Notes: The base unit of a World of Color Sipper Cup is combined with a candle holder from Dollar Tree and a dome constructed from a 2 L plastic beverage bottle. In this example, the centerpiece is a castle light-up ornament, but virtually anything could be chosen, instead.

Creator: khyizang roses in vase
URL: bringmagichome.com page
Notes: For this hack, we start with components taken from a Glove . The board LEDs are snipped off and the leads fitted with female-female Dupont cables. Diffused RGB LEDs are inserted into the end and slipped into fabric rose buds from the Dollar Store. Florist tape conceals the wiring and the assembly is placed into a vase. Good for anytime but do think about Valentines Day!

Add a Little 'Magic' to Paper Lanterns: part 4 - MWM Octopus

Submitted by khyizang on Sat, 06/04/2016 - 02:49
Creator: khyizang
URL: bringmagichome.com page
Notes: The Glove's board lends itself to replacement of the onboard LEDs with connectors that greatly expand the possibilities available for reimagining. When reconfigured, the results kind of look octopus-like. Here, a single Glove board is used to power three different lanterns resulting in a Mickey Lantern!
This always gets favorable comments from viewers.

Yogis

yogiYogis are into flexibility. That's also true for the components we'll look at in this post.  Each of these components offers much more flexibility for placement of the LEDs than has been true for the components utilized in the previous posts.  This presents some welcome new opportunities.
